Project description

In order to search for signs of life to help us understand the distribution of life in the universe, understand the geology and climate change of Mars, and better understand the evolution of planets, we plan to establish a camp in the vast area of the Arabian Plain on Mars, with a precise location at 0.25908° latitude and -7.32839° longitude. This will prepare us for human immigration and extraterrestrial exploration by providing suitable environments, living locations, and resources. This region is known for its thin atmosphere, high radiation levels and significant temperature fluctuations. Our design incorporates three major innovations:

  1. Artificial gravity system: Considering the impact of Mars’ gravity, we have designed a system to modify gravity forces to mitigate the adverse effects of low gravity. This innovation ensures a gravity environment closer to Earth, enhancing the well-being and performance of base residents.
  2. Circular gravity transition channel: we use the circular gravity transition channel to realize the conversion from Mars gravity to Earth gravity by constantly adjusting the ground inclination of the channel during the process of rotation and descent, which makes the out-of-capsule activities more smooth, reduces the inconvenience of work and experiments, and also helps astronauts reduce the psychological pressure and health problems of adapting to the gravity environment.
  3. Radiation-based power generation: To overcome the limitations of traditional energy sources and ensure sustainable power supply, we have adopted an approach to power generation that utilizes cosmic radiation. This approach, complemented by wind power and nuclear fusion power stations, enables us to effectively utilize local resources and provide a reliable energy solution tailored for the Martian environment.

Our camp is designed around the circular structure of the artificial gravity system, consisting of eco, medical, and living cabin  . The camp is surrounded by water treatment station and energy centers, as well as mobile water collection vehicles serving the water treatment station. The energy center houses radiation, wind, and nuclear fusion power station. This comprehensive design ensures that the camp is self-sufficient in critical resources such as oxygen, water, and electricity.Inside the camp, we have designed various systems to meet the living and working needs of the astronauts, including an efficient energy distribution management system that combines produced energy, such as electricity, water, and oxygen, and allocates them according to demand to achieve energy-efficient operation. The safety protection and emergency response system ensures that the laboratory can quickly take measures to protect researchers and prevent environmental pollution in the event of dangerous chemical reactions, biological contamination, or other emergencies. It also continuously monitors environmental parameters inside and outside the Mars camp (such as gas composition, temperature, and dust storm activities), performs risk assessments, and issues real-time alerts for potential dangers. Additionally, the health monitoring and psychological support system ensures the mental and physical health of the astronauts, providing psychological crisis intervention and routine mental health services. The climate control system maintains the temperature, humidity, and air pressure in the living and working areas within an appropriate range, ensuring the comfort and safety of the astronauts.
