1.1 – Project Description

Our lunar camp is dedicated to gathering and studying the energy materials on the moon. The collection is done by a “scorpion excavator”, whose “tail” is used to dig up difficult energy, the “pliers” to clip things, and the “body” is used to temporarily store the collected material.Research, analysis of components, are assisted by the machine in the laboratory. And in the lab, there are small grids made of specific materials to store the energy used for research. We have also built oxygen circulation systems, water circulation systems and other equipment to ensure that astronauts live in space. The “Butterfly-type concentration detector” feels the temperature and gas concentration in the camp through its tentacles, and feeds back the data to the console to ensure the safety of the environment. In daily life, vegetable greenhouses use space breeding technology to provide astronauts with fresh vegetables; “gecko vacuum cleaners” can clean up the camp walls, and robot housekeepers make life more convenient.

1.2 – Why do you want to build a Moon Camp? Explain the main purpose of your Moon Camp (for example scientific, commercial and/or touristic purposes).

Our lunar camp will be built near the Antarctic, in a appropriately sized crater. These terrain are easy to build; on the other hand, the probability of another impact decreases, which increases the safety of the camp.Water is extremely precious on the moon, in order to ensure the normal supply of water, we will choose to build camps near the polar region, and the Antarctic has more solar energy, so our camp will be built in craters near the Antarctic.

2.1 – Where do you want to build your Moon Camp? Explain your choice.

The lunar camp is mainly composed of complex buildings, vegetable greenhouses, bionic robots and a lunar rover. The appearance of the complex building is similar to a sphere, the building is built by multi-layers of materials, the surface is smooth, to a certain extent, the internal materials have a certain insulation, to solve the problem of large temperature difference between day and night on the moon;at the top are solar panels that can rotate according to the angle of sunlight, which can make full use of light energy. The complex building has three floors, the first floor is mainly water circulation and gas circulation device, transported to each floor through the pipeline, the water vapor and carbon dioxide exhaled by the astronauts will be recycled through the pipeline, the excreted urine will be recycled and purified, and used as drinking water and domestic water.Hydrogen produced by the electrolysis of oxygen production and the carbon dioxide exhaled by the astronauts will regenerate the oxygen through a chemical reaction, improving the utilization rate of oxygen;the second floor is the experimental area, mainly where astronauts work; the third floor is the living area.Vegetable greenhouses set up alone not only ensure the dietary needs of astronauts, but also provides space for experimental cultivation. In order to adapt to the lunar environment, we use bionic technology to build scorpion excavators, butterfly data detectors, and gecko vacuum cleaners, which serve astronauts to facilitate their life and research career.

2.2 – How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Consider how you can utilise the Moon’s natural resources, and which materials you would need to bring from Earth. Describe the techniques, materials and your design choices.

The dangers astronauts will face in space are radiation, meteorite collisions, illness and so on.For radiation, our camp building materials can absorb radiation very well without affecting the astronauts. There are fitness equipment inside the camp to exercise every day to prevent muscle atrophy, increase bone density and reduce calcium loss in the body; By judging the location of the meteorite that may affect the camp by radar, the camp can take protective measures in advance and start the battery to bomb the meteorite; the camp has a medicine box and AED for simple treatment, if the astronauts are seriously sick back to Earth.Considering the temperature on the moon, the camp has space air conditioning, which can adjust the temperature inside the camp. When the astronauts returned to camp from the outside, we also built an underpass to cushion the temperature difference.

2.3 – How does your Moon Camp protect and provide shelter to your astronauts against the Moon’s harsh environment?

We will use three methods to provide the astronauts with water resources.First, control the “space scorpion” to collect lunar ice, and the collected lunar ice is converted into edible water and domestic water through a water purification device, and provides each layer of water through pipelines.Second, through the recovery pipeline, reabsorb the water vapor in the camp air, the astronauts exhaled water vapor and carbon dioxide will be recycled through the pipeline, mainly through the absorption of carbon dioxide pipeline —— from the oxygen purification device link, into the middle pipeline, the second and third floor has a branch, respectively pointing to the laboratory and the gym.Third, recycle and purify the urine discharged by the astronauts. The sewage treatment pipe connects the water purification device on the first floor and the toilet on the third floor, and links the water purification system on the first floor.

3.1 – How will your Moon Camp provide astronauts with sustainable access to basic needs like water, food, air and power?

At present, humans have been able to produce small amounts of food, vegetables and edible flowers in the space laboratory, so the vegetable greenhouses we built on the moon camp use this advanced technology to provide fresh vegetables, and of course, some food is shipped from the earth.

3.2 – How will your Moon Camp deal with the waste produced by the astronauts on the Moon?

The moon has no atmosphere on the surface, so the solar energy resources are extremely abundant!Using the rotating solar panels on the roof, adjust the Angle according to the direction of the sunlight, so that the solar energy can be fully utilized, convert the rich solar energy into electric energy, providing energy for the work and life of the lunar camp!

3.3 – How will your Moon Camp maintain communications with Earth and other Moon bases?

We will use the electrolysis of water technology to make oxygen, and the hydrogen gas and the carbon dioxide exhaled by the astronauts will regenerate the oxygen through the chemical reaction, which also makes better use of the original material. The delivery of oxygen is connected through the pipe from the oxygen generator, into the buffer, from the buffer into the middle pipe, to the top of the third floor end. There are three branches, one on the first floor, branch from the source pipe, responsible to provide the oxygen on the first floor, one on the second floor, extending from the middle, pointing to provide the oxygen on the second floor, and one on the third floor, pointing to the gym.

4.1 – What scientific topic(s) would be the focus of the research in your Moon Camp? Explain which experiments you plan to do on the Moon (for example in the topics of geology, low gravity environment, biology, technology, robotics, astronomy etc.).

The main purpose of establishing the lunar camp is to commit to the development of scientific research. The specific aspects include the use of bionic technology on the moon, space breeding, moon observation, the use of solar power generation on the moon, the mining of various lunar mineral resources and composition analysis. The vacuum environment of the moon provides another base for scientific experiments, which can carry out a lot of experiments, and explore as much as possible on the moon, with immeasurable value for the development of the scientific cause.

5.1 – What would you include in your astronaut training programme, to help prepare the astronauts for a Moon mission?

The astronauts come back from Earth on a flying saucer, then the robot butler sends the supplies brought back from Earth to the right position. Astronauts directly take the elevator into the underground channel, slowly adapt to the change of temperature pressure, take off the suit, the robot receives it into wardrobe. After a simple cleaning in the bathroom, the astronauts go directly to the laboratory.

5.2 – What space vehicles will your future Moon mission need? Describe the vehicles found in your Moon camp and consider how you will travel to and from Earth, and explore new destinations on the Moon’s surface.

Control the console to let the “space scorpion” collect energy, the rover detect the surrounding environment. After confirming that everything is normal, they could relax a little. Come to the gym to ride a dynamic bike and listen to music.”Bep- – – -“, the console suddenly issued an alarm, originally is the “space butterfly” detected the abnormal carbon dioxide concentration in the camp. The astronauts split up, one to the console to check the concentration of the area, one to check the pipeline, the other to the first floor, learned the data of the instruments, and the camp returned to normal after some operations. At this time, the underground robot butler also sent today’s fresh vegetables, made a simple meal in the kitchen, after dinner, the astronauts wearing protective clothing to the material detection room, record today’s data, and pass back to earth through the console. After doing today’s work, the astronauts can finally rest.Use telescopes to see the planets in space to broaden their horizons;drive on the surface of the moon, feel space up close, and relax themselves;play the piano in space, edify their sentiment. In the evening, after cleaning the bathroom, go back to the bedroom to pray, and then rest in the sleeping cabin. The robot will continue working at the camp and will immediately alert any abnormalities to ensure the safety of the astronauts.
