Moon Camp Pioneers 2022 – 2023 Project Gallery

In Moon Camp Pioneers, each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using the software of their choice. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangers of space and describe the living and working facilities in their Moon Camp.

1.1 – Project Description

The purpose of our lunar camp is to give travelers a different experience of life, to have fun on the moon, by building some entertainment facilities, as well as some protection for passengers, so that passengers can have a different experience in a safe situation, and can explore the moon through the rover.

1.2 – Why do you want to build a Moon Camp? Explain the main purpose of your Moon Camp (for example scientific, commercial and/or touristic purposes).

The purpose of the moon camp is to let people go into this strange world, travel exploration and so on. In the moon camp, you can play the Ferris wheel. The rover can be used to explore, to understand the moon, and to realize that it is not a place where only cold robots can live.

2.1 – Where do you want to build your Moon Camp? Explain your choice.

Our lunar camps are located in craters, and these craters are very stable, and these craters not only provide resources for human beings, including drinking water, bathing, and rocket fuel) and would provide a good shelter for life on the moon

2.2 – How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Consider how you can utilise the Moon’s natural resources, and which materials you would need to bring from Earth. Describe the techniques, materials and your design choices.

Weare going to use a large 3D printer to take the materials from the lunar soil to build the buildings, and the lunar soil will also provide good radiation protection, the lunar soil has silica in it and meets the requirements of ordinary construction ceramics, and we will have a factory that will process it and provide visitors with the models they want, therefore, we can not only provide materials for the building, but also meet the needs of tourists. In the building, we will also use glass, which has the ability to prevent radiation.

2.3 – How does your Moon Camp protect and provide shelter to your astronauts against the Moon’s harsh environment?

Our lunar camp will be built in the lunar crater, low enough to prevent some meteorites from falling, and the shell of the lunar base will be protected with bulletproof glass and radiationproof. And in every room, we will prevent a big data screen from paying attention to touristsapos; vital signs all the time, in case of unexpected accidents, we will provide enough oxygen and water and food for tourists.

3.1 – How will your Moon Camp provide astronauts with sustainable access to basic needs like water, food, air and power?

Water

We can build a plant that can take moon ice and process it into water and oxygen, and hydrogen can be used as rocket launch material.
Food

Food

There will be a canteen on the third floor of our building, and we can provide delicious food for tourists by cultivating plants and making some food through 3D printer technology.

Energy

We provide a steady stream of energy to the base partly through solar panels and partly through the construction of nuclear power plants.

Air

The production of oxygen through the processing of lunar ice in factories

3.2 – How will your Moon Camp deal with the waste produced by the astronauts on the Moon?

In the construction of Moon Camp, we thought about using a water treatment plant to treat the waste water so that it can be reused. Because of our tourism, so we will go back and forth to earth once over a period of time, and we will bring some waste back to earth, pursue humanistic care, and let the passengers be as satisfied with our service as possible.

3.3 – How will your Moon Camp maintain communications with Earth and other Moon bases?

In the construction of Moon Camp, our first consideration was how to keep travelers in touch with their families, keeping an eye on the safety of tourists, within the scope of the lunar camp, you can choose to keep communication with your family at all times, and the internal visualization screen of the lunar camp can feedback the changes of passengers’ physical functions to the passengers’ families at all times. And the headquarters will always be in contact with the earth.

4.1 – What scientific topic(s) would be the focus of the research in your Moon Camp? Explain which experiments you plan to do on the Moon (for example in the topics of geology, low gravity environment, biology, technology, robotics, astronomy etc.).

Because we are going to do tourism projects, we will use large 3D printers to build our buildings, we have a observatory, and we will do some astronomical research, and the observation of the stars will be fed back to the earth in time.

5.1 – What would you include in your astronaut training programme, to help prepare the astronauts for a Moon mission?

We will train some astronauts in advanced astronaut training and then send them to the moon to set up a lunar camp, and when the passengers decide to go up, we will supplement and train them with lunar knowledge several months in advance, as well as training in ground simulation environment. When we go to the moon, there will be special personnel to lead the safety of passengers. We have some training on what people should do when facing dangerous situations. In the moon camp should do more exercise, how to use some of the moon camp facilities, supplies, etc

5.2 – What space vehicles will your future Moon mission need? Describe the vehicles found in your Moon camp and consider how you will travel to and from Earth, and explore new destinations on the Moon’s surface.

We have rockets to and from the earth to the moon, on the moon we have a rover for tourism projects, but also to explore the moon, our rockets can be between the earth and the moon can go back and forth many times, sustainable use
