1.1 – Project Description

“The Georgian soul” Moon camp is a place to discover innovative and new possibilities. Our camp aims to conduct scientific research to create a completely new habitable space on the moon. Studies include both cultural expeditions and science-related issues. We decided to promote the traditions and characteristics of our homeland. In order to leave our mark as Georgia on the moon. We are also going to bring our crops like grapes and wheat to the moon. To highlight hospitality. The camp will have the same shape as the territory of Georgia on the world map. It will be covered with glass, which we will make there, and it will be in the colors of the earth. In the greenhouse, we will plant plants that emit a lot of oxygen, such as Sansevieria, Dracaena, Schefflera, and Ficus benjamina. There is a large supply of nitrogen on the moon. Which is confirmed by scientists, based on which we conduct this research.

Camp “Georgian Soul” will be equipped with necessary facilities such as a bathroom, kitchen (with its own supplies), bedroom, living room, sports, laboratory, and communication rooms.

1.2 – Why do you want to build a Moon Camp? Explain the main purpose of your Moon Camp (for example scientific, commercial and/or touristic purposes).

Earth raised us and gave us health, education, and the perfect environment for life. However, there are many more mysteries hidden in space, and it is time to get ready to explore them. Our goal is to introduce the features of Georgian culture to the world. As part of the project, we will conduct research to investigate whether it will be possible to grow vines and wheat varieties on the moon. As you know, Georgia is the homeland of grapes and wheat, therefore, we intend to take Georgian culture and traditions abroad. Our goal is to bring life to the moon. Let’s determine the living conditions on the moon. If we can carry out our research with complete accuracy and grow vines and wheat varieties on the moon, then we can use our camp for tourism purposes.

2.1 – Where do you want to build your Moon Camp? Explain your choice.

We are going to set up camp at Shackleton Crater. In particular, on the outer terrain near the crater, which is located on the south pole of the moon. The diameter of the crater is 21, and the depth is 4.2 km. Scientists have found higher than normal amounts of hydrogen in the crater, indicating the presence of ice in Shackleton. Volatile substances released during the impact on the moon can freeze at Shackleton Crater. The summits of the crater rim are exposed to constant sunlight, the interior is still in shadow. That is why we are going to install flat mirrors in the corners of the sun’s exposure, so that the mirror will reflect the light and give it to us again, in the desired place. It will strengthen our base and allow us to establish a camp on the moon that will be operational for a long time.

2.2 – How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Consider how you can utilise the Moon’s natural resources, and which materials you would need to bring from Earth. Describe the techniques, materials and your design choices.

Our camp-building process will be divided into three parts. In the first stage, we will send special workers to the moon who will secure the base we have selected and prepare it for the start of construction. In the second phase, we will send a team of astronauts to the moon, who will begin building a camp with materials suitable for the moon. In the third stage, we will bring equipment to the moon, which we will need for daily existence, and we will bring a group of tourists with us.

Our camp will have the same shape as Georgia on the world map. Our goal will be to find out if it is possible to grow Georgian cultural plants on the moon. A typical cultural plant will be planted on the site of each corner. We are going to grow plants in greenhouses, as for the soil, we will create it artificially, based on the information we received, we can create soil artificially if we have air and water.

2.3 – How does your Moon Camp protect and provide shelter to your astronauts against the Moon’s harsh environment?

While on the moon, astronauts are at risk of wearing a spacesuit all the time, and we are creating a spacesuit with elements of the Chokhi-Georgian national costume, which is high-quality and comfortable, which will give astronauts more time in space. We also have a special stopwatch (on the inside of each spacesuit) that counts how long the astronaut has been in space, it signals to the astronaut that it is time to return to camp.

Maybe the moon and this expedition will create mental problems for the astronauts. We know that traveling to the moon is difficult because it means being in a vast universe with many dangers. Astronauts can experience life-threatening feelings, fall into depression. A doctor and a psychologist will help the crew members to get out of depression. If necessary, astronauts will be prescribed medical treatment.

3.1 – How will your Moon Camp provide astronauts with sustainable access to basic needs like water, food, air and power?

Water

According to the information we found, water in Shackleton Crater can be obtained by melting ice. Our camp will be equipped with devices that provide the camp with clean drinking water.  We will use the second part for household work, we will not waste the used water and we will water the plants. This water will be saturated with vitamins, which will ensure the development of plants quickly and healthily.

Food

We will use plants grown in our greenhouses as food. These greenhouses will be equipped with technologies that will create good conditions for plants to germinate. We will also use fish as food, which will be placed in special water tanks. According to our information, there are fish whose flesh has the same composition as that of animals. Moreover, keeping fish is easy and their use as food is not harmful to humans.

Power

We will get electricity from solar panels. We accumulate energy.

It is necessary to use electricity correctly. Economically, we need eco-devices and be careful about them.

Air

We will get air from the plants that we will plant in the camp area. Especially those that emit large amounts of oxygen. Plants will be in the camp to provide air to the astronauts easily. Our electrical devices “suck” air and deliver it to the camp. Our base will be closed with a solid material, which will ensure the accumulation of air in it. In order to generate more air, each room will be decorated with plants.

In case of air leaks or shortages, airy backup ampoules, such as hydrogen peroxide, so that in the event of an emergency it can be quickly detected and dealt with.

3.2 – How will your Moon Camp deal with the waste produced by the astronauts on the Moon?

We already know that astronauts on the moon will have a lot of household and other waste. Our team has developed a plan to recycle waste on the moon. There is a critical situation in terms of waste on earth, so we intend not to make the same mistake here and use the experience gained for our benefit. The waste will be initially collected in smart waste bins that will be located in the camp area, they will be recycled and reused. Smart trash cans will make life easier for astronauts. It comes with a charger that hydrates the bin. bin

It will open on a slight approach to it, in any direction, and an air aerosol will follow, which is the best way in this confined space to prevent unpleasant odors from accumulating in the camp. It will also be narrow and fit into tight spaces.

3.3 – How will your Moon Camp maintain communications with Earth and other Moon bases?

According to the information we found, the signal from the moon reaches the earth in about 1 minute. As we have already said, astronauts can get depressed and think less about the work and the implementation of the mission, so we will have a special room, the so-called A communication room where astronauts will enter and communicate with their families twice a day, according to the schedule. Also, from this room, a report will be sent to Earth about how the mission is progressing, what is the health of the cosmonauts, what part of the resources have been used, what they will need in the future. Which drugs have been used and which ones will be needed. From the Earth, specialists will prepare a report from which they will send the necessary resources: medicines and other substances that cannot be obtained on the Moon.

4.1 – What scientific topic(s) would be the focus of the research in your Moon Camp? Explain which experiments you plan to do on the Moon (for example in the topics of geology, low gravity environment, biology, technology, robotics, astronomy etc.).

Our lunar camp conducts biological, technological, astronomical and geological research on the moon, the purpose of which is to determine: whether it is possible to create artificial ecosystems on the moon, to build a camp and to grow Georgian culture on the artificial soil, in particular: to grow wheat and grapes, because the lunar soil contains a large amount of nitrogen and We will be able to develop them. We also plan to conduct an experiment and try to grow on the moon the types of vines that thrive most easily. One of them is “Saferavi”, we will use it as a medical remedy, in particular for the treatment of oncological diseases. We will artificially create the necessary conditions for wheat growth.

We will collect a large amount of ice on the moon, which we will melt and then filter, which we will use to water the plants. The technologies and tools that we will bring from the Earth to the Moon will help us in this. We will investigate and observe other objects at low frequencies. We will create an observatory, where we will collect the necessary research equipment.

16 kW meteorite falls are common on the surface of the moon. An infrared telescope is essential. We will use the locators on the moon. These locators exist on the moon, are located there, and are directed to transmitting and receiving antennas when necessary.

If we successfully carry out our experiments, we will be able to use the camp we built on the moon for tourist purposes and introduce the inhabitants of the earth to the information of our approved experiments and the obtained results. We will also organize a small excursion, so they can visit the moon camp we have built and develop more.

5.1 – What would you include in your astronaut training programme, to help prepare the astronauts for a Moon mission?

First, we’ll spread the word that we’re choosing people to go to the moon if they want. We will conduct video training where we will show astronauts what it will be like to live on the moon. Those people who express their desire to go to the moon will be selected in our group. We will train them with simulations that will create the illusion of life on the moon. These simulations will help us imagine them and go through a kind of practice. In particular, they will learn how to survive in spacesuits for a long time, as well as study the structure of the moon and learn about our plans. The training will be divided into three parts. First, we will conduct remote meetings with them, where we will introduce them to what it will be like to live on the moon. In the second stage, the already selected applicants will be able to study various activities (as written above) to make life on the moon easier. Our training will last 18 months. During this time, they will be able to change their mind and leave the camp if they wish. When we have the team ready and we will reveal to them our plans, that is, what we are going to do on the moon and we will launch it.

5.2 – What space vehicles will your future Moon mission need? Describe the vehicles found in your Moon camp and consider how you will travel to and from Earth, and explore new destinations on the Moon’s surface.

In order for our mission to be successful, we first need to successfully fly to the moon, in which we will use the Saturn V rocket, which we will load with especially necessary and important technologies and tools, so that we have the appropriate equipment on the moon, which we will use to build a camp on the moon, in particular, we will need:

Telescopes
Water purification equipment
Metal melting furnace (for melting silicon)
Radiation measuring tools
Antennas for communication
Medical equipment
Air supply turbines
Radio telescope
Demonstration tools
Various types of radiation measuring device
