1.1 – Project Description

Our moon camp is located in the south polar part of the moon and has two sections, on the surface of the dust and in its hollows. There are 8 living rooms in the lower northern part of the moon camp, 2 people live in each room, so it turns out that we have a team of 16 people. Our goal is to create an environment where people can live as much as possible. We create all kinds of possibilities, we produce oxygen, water, unlimited energy and food. We have research and projects that will help people to go beyond the borders of the Earth and live around space.

1.2 – Why do you want to build a Moon Camp? Explain the main purpose of your Moon Camp (for example scientific, commercial and/or touristic purposes).

Due to scientific research. There are resources on it that we can obtain through technology and scientific observations. By building a camp on the moon, we can develop technologies to extract and process these resources that can be used to support human activities both on the moon and on Earth. Also the moon can be a place where we can migrate from earth. Since the Earth is the planet where we live, the geometric progression of the population can lead to the depletion of natural resources, and if we start thinking about colonizing the Moon today, we can have other habitats besides the Earth. Also, we will get information and learn more about space

2.1 – Where do you want to build your Moon Camp? Explain your choice.

We built a camp on the poles of the moon, namely in the southern part. The southern pole of the moon is the best place to live. We have constant Sun, therefore, we have constant light. Also, in the southern part of the moon, there are volcanoes that erupted millions of years ago, in the place of which today there are depressions, these depressions are 40 m deep. At the same time, living on the South Pole of the Moon has one disadvantage, we cannot get enough energy even though there is continuous sunlight. The problem is that sunlight hits the southern part of the moon from the side and there is not enough light to get enough energy.

2.2 – How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Consider how you can utilise the Moon’s natural resources, and which materials you would need to bring from Earth. Describe the techniques, materials and your design choices.

We used iron, concrete and glass to build our moon camp, concrete to build walls and floors, iron to make solar panels and doors. The camp is divided into 2 parts, upper and lower. The lower part is made in the hollows of the moon, where were volcanoes millions of years ago. The lower part is intended for living, and the upper part is for scientists to study the moon very well. In the lower part, we have 8 living rooms, each room has 2 people, (therefore a team of 16 people) there is a kitchen, bathroom, toilet and bedroom. On the lower floor there is water extraction. The frozen water inside the moon is excavated, then these fragments are placed in a vessel from where they are melted in heaters. We also have a meeting room, a basement, a training room, a computer laboratory, a virtual space and an elevator to the second floor. In the upper part of the camp, around the camp, there are 16 solar energy absorbing batteries, which stand evenly one after the other, since the sun shines from the side of the moon at the south pole, we decided to put solar batteries on all sides. Inside the upper camp, there is a greenhouse where we grow plants, fruits and vegetables for food. This room is equipped with an automatic watering method with the help of artificial intelligence, and we also have high-emission lamps to exchange solar energy for the sky at night.

2.3 – How does your Moon Camp protect and provide shelter to your astronauts against the Moon’s harsh environment?

Astronauts need protection only from meteors, rigid temperature, gravity and radiation are already protected. For the temperature, we specially selected the southern part, which protects the astronauts from frost and heat. As we know, there is weaker gravity on the Moon than on Earth. Gravity on the moon is 17 percent of Earth’s gravity. Protection from this can be done in the form of a heavy astronaut. Astronauts must be trained and accustomed to this. One way to protect against meteors is to help agencies. Agencies, after spotting meteors, will notify astronauts that there is danger and they should take shelter in a safe place, or spacecraft should be equipped with meteoroid detectors that can detect incoming meteoroids and alert the crew to take necessary precautions.

3.1 – How will your Moon Camp provide astronauts with sustainable access to basic needs like water, food, air and power?

It is cheaper for us to melt and filter the frozen water inside the Moon than it is to transport it from Earth. The pieces of ice are placed in a special container, from where they are transferred to heaters, as a result of heating, they melt, the melted mass is transferred through pipes, therefore it is necessary to filter it. The pieces of ice are placed in a special container, from where they are transferred to the heaters, as a result of heating, they melt, the melted mass is transferred through pipes to the water storage tank.
Since the sun shines from the side of the South Pole of the moon, We decided to make 16 solar panels. It will be installed in 8 places in total: North, South, West, East and in between.
Astronauts can bring food to Earth, but food that does not spoil over time, that is, canned food. As a result of water extraction, they are automatically irrigated. When it gets dark and the sun doesn’t shine, at that time we use the energy released from the solar panels, which goes into the lamps that shine and the plants are distributed.
There are three ways to obtain oxygen from plants, water and regolith. Plants produce carbon dioxide through photosynthesis, but they need carbon dioxide and solar energy. Another way is to break down water by electrolysis. The last method we use is regolith oxygenation. Regolith is a layer of unconsolidated rock material that contains large amounts of oxygen. We can use this in one way to boil regolith, after boiling it releases oxygen, as a result we can place this junk in balloons and have it for all astronauts.

3.2 – How will your Moon Camp deal with the waste produced by the astronauts on the Moon?

During their life on the moon, astronauts will notice after a few days that they are leaving too much waste on the moon. There are two types of waste: recyclable and non-recyclable. Recyclable waste, such as plants or excrement, can be released into the exosphere. We collect it together and leave it, then nature itself will take care of it. This is anaerobic. Time and time again it behaves like a fertile disease. According to this method, anaerobic microorganisms dominate and develop intermediate compounds, including methane, organic acids, hydrogen sulfide, and others. Unprocessed waste can also be: plastic or cans. We can use it for a 3D printer. We can use the useless things in a smart way, this way we will not delay the world and use the useless.

3.3 – How will your Moon Camp maintain communications with Earth and other Moon bases?

There are many ways to communicate from the Moon to Earth, but a few may do the trick. The slowest connection that can be made between the Earth and the Moon is radio communication. We can communicate with Earth by radio, we can send messages to Earth through radio waves, but this is a useless and outdated method. We decided to use the Internet by satellite method. NASA put satellites around the moon in 2022 and now we can reach from the moon to the earth. We can use social networks and use them. A spacecraft or lander on the Moon receives signals from a ground station and sends its own signals back to Earth. This requires specialized equipment on the spacecraft or lander, such as antennas and transmitters.

4.1 – What scientific topic(s) would be the focus of the research in your Moon Camp? Explain which experiments you plan to do on the Moon (for example in the topics of geology, low gravity environment, biology, technology, robotics, astronomy etc.).

On the moon, with our lunar camp, we can try life on other planets, the moon is not a place where people can live perfectly, the moon is a step to explore the infinite cosmos, we are exploring life on the moon, because it can be one way to live in space. One of our important topics is the extraction of oxygen from the lunar surface using the lunar soil. The only substance that supplies us with oxygen is regolith. As a result of its boiling, a large amount of oxygen was obtained. Also, on the moon we can explore its surface, we can discover new substances or organisms. There are many astrological texts and resources that discuss the role of the moon in astrology and how it affects various aspects of our lives. The Moon moves through 12 astrological signs in about 28 days. Astronauts can observe the Moon and note its phase, position and aspects of other planets to understand the emotions, intuition and subconscious desires of a particular sign.

5.1 – What would you include in your astronaut training programme, to help prepare the astronauts for a Moon mission?

Astronauts must undergo training for 8 months before they fling to the moon. They have to do part of their training on Earth and part of it on the Moon. Astronauts must do physical, virtual and psychological exercises:

They will definitely need virtual reality exercises, because without virtual reality they will not be able to balance in weak gravity conditions. Virtual reality will help them to develop their skills in space.
Physical exercises are vitally necessary in the conditions of extreme weather conditions; in this situation the health of astronauts can be seriously harmed. They mainly use treadmills and bicycles for exercise, in addition, they train with dumbbells to strengthen muscles and bones.
Psychological exercises When astronauts learn that they have to fly in space, therefore they have a great psychological pressure, which has a bad effect on the astronaut’s mental health. However, there are preparatory trainings where they overcome all psychological pressure. They will prepare for space flight. They also have to perform self-rescue tasks if they have to go to an inaccessible place.
Teamwork is important to each team member, as all astronauts must follow the leader’s orders. A team member needs to be selected, and other team members must be aware that they must follow the leader’s orders. We need to teach the team members that it can be a tedious process, but they must remember that everyone has special skills and together they can solve all problems.
One of the most important exercises that astronauts must perform when they return to Earth is the parachute landing. Astronauts must slow down their descent by deploying their parachutes. They must have parachuted into the ocean, because they avoided getting burned due to the high speed.

5.2 – What space vehicles will your future Moon mission need? Describe the vehicles found in your Moon camp and consider how you will travel to and from Earth, and explore new destinations on the Moon’s surface.

vehicles and rockets are important for getting into space and exploring. Through rockets, it is possible to fly from the earth into space, but before the take-off, everything must be ready to carry out research. The countdown starts 28 hours earlier, this time is for astronauts and engineers. For 28 hours the engineers check the rocket’s functionality and technical faults, and to correct them, they turn off the time indicator. During this time, engineers install the emergency system, check the fuel. After that, the spaceship goes into automatic mode, the engines turn on and the ship leaves the atmosphere. We use these vehicles to move to the moon and perform various researches. It’s just that at their last stage, the astronauts have to climb into the control module. The parachute is opened when the control module enters the atmosphere, decelerating it to the encapsulated ocean before landing on the surface.
