In Moon Camp Pioneers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Fusion 360. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.
We design the lunar base as a mobile vehicle, which is driven by the track and equipped with a powerful shock absorption system and an AI-operation system. In this way, the base can move freely on the surface of the moon to collect different samples and data of research. The planting area and laboratory can carry out experimental planting on the different areas of the moon. providing complete living facilities, entertainment facilities for astronauts. We will build a water circulation system, which can use the cold-water cooling engine, and at the same time, providing the astronauts with domestic water. The base is available for 4 people.
Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?
Near the moon pole and part of the moon back, because the moon pole may have unexplored resources, such as water (ice) for life, and because of the mobility of our camp, we can explore part of the moon back and collect data and resources.
How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Describe the techniques and materials you would use.
After landing, the astronauts will install the emergency warehouse, which contains some necessary materials, and then assemble the parts of the base vehicle within one day. The internal facilities have been fixed. The astronauts only need to operate the manipulator on the spacecraft to complete the installation of large parts. After completing the work, astronauts can enter the base through the main entrance of the head part of the base, starting the air pressure system, and the appropriative container in the base will release the stored air and start the power supply.
Carry the water from the earth, and heat the ice that is collected on the moon to get water.
Carry the emergency food from the earth, plant crops on the moon, and try to produce artificial meat on the moon.
The crops will be automatically harvested and then cooked by robots.
On the top of the base are equipped with a large number of solar panels, which can produce and store electric energy when moving to the sunny side of the moon. And a lot of energy will be provided by controllable fusion.
The base is equipped with an air pressure maintenance system, which is used to monitor and control the air composition. And the plants in the base can effectively clean the air and provide more oxygen. What’s more, the water that is collected on the moon can also be used to produce oxygen through chemical reactions.

The environment on the Moon is very dangerous for the astronauts. Explain how your Moon Camp will protect them.
We build the inter-layer with thermal insulation and radiation protection materials. And there is a temperature-control system to keep astronauts in the comfortable temperature. The whole moving system can make the base move freely on the surface of the moon, keeping away from the possible meteorite-falling position predicted by computers. The base also equips with high-tech weapons to smash the meteorite from a long distance. On both sides of the base can a multifunctional mechanical arm and a breaking device be found, which can break the stone to make a path when the base is in great trouble.
Describe a day on the Moon for your Moon Camp astronaut crew.
7:00 To 8:00, the astronauts get up.After completing the washing, they have breakfast;8:30 To 8:30 , they will have morning exercise; 8:30 To 9:00 , they will doing maintenance work, and have communication with the Earth,;9:30 To 11:30 ,the astronauts will start working, two of whom will stay in the work area and planting area to carry on the research and experiment, and the others will work in the control area to carry on the information electronic research and operate the mechanical arm to mine minerals.11:30 To 13:30 ,have lunch and entertainment.13:30 To 17:00 ,the two working groups exchange their working and go on working. 17:00 To 17:30 ,have communication with the Earth and check and fix the problems. 17:30 To 19:00, have entertainment and relaxation. 19:00 To 21:00 ,finish the evening work for plant research,and sort out research reports, astronomical observation, data analysis,etc. 21:00 To 9:30,have physical condition test, and upload the data. All the astronauts will go to sleep after 22:00.
