Moon Camp Pioneers Gallery 2019-2020

In Moon Camp Pioneers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Fusion 360. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.

Project description

Describe your Moon Camp project.

Our lunar base will be located underground at the south pole, using a fusion reactor as energy, and at our base we have 12 rooms consisting of 2 bedrooms, 2 changing rooms, 1 gym, 1 plantation, 1 games room, 1 kitchen / dining room, workshop, warehouse, research laboratory, 1 meeting room and communication room. At our base there is a sphere that is where the fusion reactor is located. In our base we have a central room where there are stairs to go up or down to the surface, where there are also 4 main corridors that will lead to each respective room.

Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?

At the South Pole because a crater was discovered in 2009 that contains water and we can bathe, drink water and even separate the basic components of the liquid, such as oxygen and hydrogen, to produce fuel.
This location would also avoid the problem of long lunar nights – about 354 hours and would allow the colony to take advantage of continuous sunlight to generate solar energy

How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Describe the techniques and materials you would use.

we will use materials used in a space station
materials:
external thermal blanket
mod Sheiding
kevlar
redudant blandders
internal scuff barrie

Water
Food
Electricity
Air

We can find salty water in the moon and with a filter made of grafeno we can turn salty water into fresh water.

The best option we can find to have food on the moon is to turn the whole crew into vegans

To have energy in the moon camp, we will have a fusion reactor, which can produce a lot of energy without using a lot of resources

To be able to have oxygen in the moon camp we will first use water electrolysis to produce the first oxygen from that we will use an algae-based bioreactor that transforms carbon dioxide into oxygen

How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Which materials would you use?

[54]

The environment on the Moon is very dangerous for the astronauts. Explain how your Moon Camp will protect them.

We can keep safe our crew because all of our moon camp is under the earth and is made with resistant materials

Describe a day on the Moon for your Moon Camp astronaut crew.

We go to the spa to bathe, refectory and then go to the gym, then some (2) went to the research laboratory, others (2) at the store to get some materials to maintain the reactor and others (4) to take care of the plantation. After many hours of work we went to the games room.
