Moon Camp Explorers Gallery 2020-2021

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.

Project description

We named our camp as team work because we did this project in teamwork. We want to host
5 astronauts every six months at our base. Some parts of our base will be brought from the
world. We also want to specialize in studying the living standards of a creature called the
Henneguya Salmincola.

We will use the lead element in the buildings. We will use lead by meeting it.According to the
researches, lead is an element that does not pass radiation.

Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?

Close to the Lunar Poles

Why did you choose this location?

We will set up our camp next to small craters near the south pole of the moon because there is
both constant sunlight and we can obtain water in ice craters. Thanks to this constant
temperature, we will be able to put solar panels on the craters. At the same time, we can get
electricity thanks to these solar panels a place

How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Which materials would you use?

First of all,we will use a satellite dish to communicate with the world. 3D regolith printing
will be used to build the camp above the ground. The base structure will also be inflated, the
inflation modules will be covered with a metal layer. Lava will be used for the underground
part of the base. A rover will be used to bring the melted ice to our camp. A mirror will be
used to melt the ice we bring in, and another Rover is required to navigate the lunar surface.

Explain how your Moon Camp will provide the astronauts with:
Water
Food
Electricity
Air

We will bring ice from glaceries at the South Pole. With the help of the mirror we made, we
will use the sun’s rays to melt and turn them into water.

We will eat frozen foods that we brought with us for a while. Afterwards, we will benefit
from potatoes and similar plants that we grow in the greenhouse.
We will use human excrement for fertilizer.

We will use the energy that we get from solar panels.

To provide oxygen, we will separate the water into its components by electrolysis method.
Then we will connect pipe from air outlet and move this pipe to base. In this way we will be
able to provide oxygen to wherever we want.

Describe a day on the Moon for one of your Moon Camp astronauts

Our camp will follow the world time. The general schedule of astronauts: They get up early
around 6 in the morning. Astronauts have 45 minutes for morning hygiene and breakfast.
They should check the base by 8.00 in the morning, then exercise for 1 hour. They start
preparing experiments in the morning. At 12.30 there is a one and a half hour break for lunch.
By exercising for 1 more hour at 15.30 they complete their daily exercises. They
experimented until 19.00 and have dinner at 20.00. And then they check the base. Fridays are
clean day and Sunday is off.
