Moon Camp Explorers Gallery 2020-2021

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.

Project description

The aim of our project is to be able to explore space with human needs and sort out the garbage. There are personal beds and a work desk. On the recycling level, it is investigated whether the garbage in the space is recyclable. While meeting its water needs with robots that break the ice, it also obtains energy from solar panels. They can climb the floors with simple elevators made with the energy obtained.

Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?

Close to the Lunar Poles

Why did you choose this location?

We chose this place as we need the most water. Our beds we will not have any problems as it can maintain its temperature.

How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Which materials would you use?

We would use chrome. Because it is strong and can protect us from shaking. We would also use iron because it is our choice for building simple places.

Explain how your Moon Camp will provide the astronauts with:
Water
Food
Electricity
Air

Water needs are met with 2 ice breaking robots. The robots are powered by solar power and they have recharging points.

The crops grown in our field are irrigated regularly and can be collected quickly. In that process, specially brought meals are used.

Thanks to our many solar panels, there is no energy shortage and we can get our jobs done in the fastest way possible.

Specially prepared clothes make the air breathable again. In addition, in case of a mishap, it is possible to provide long-term use of air from our tank.

Describe a day on the Moon for one of your Moon Camp astronauts

They wake up in comfortable special weather clothes. They control what they have to do from their desk and get water and some food from the kitchen. They are looking at whether garbage collected from space is recyclable. They water the ice they collect from ice robots and water the field. They go exploring and return to the living quarters in the evening and study further afield with a telescope. They eat and go to their rooms. They print the 3-dimensional works they observe on their work desks in a 3d printer.
