Moon Camp Explorers Gallery 2020-2021

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.

Project description

In the main part of the base is a laboratory and a place where astronauts sleep and spend most of their time. Plants are grown in the greenhouse for astronauts to eat. At the same time, they will be used to obtain oxygen. There will be a large wall around the greenhouse, the main part of the base and the nuclear reactor, which will protect the base. Outside the wall will be solar panels and a device that draw water from the crater.

Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?

Close to the Lunar Poles

Why did you choose this location?

There is enough of sunlight and water in the craters. It is a good place to explore the Moon and the universe.

How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Which materials would you use?

Special robots would be sent to the Moon to build the base from materials available on the Moon (eg regolith, ice, or urea…)

Explain how your Moon Camp will provide the astronauts with:
Water
Food
Electricity
Air

We will partly transport water from the Earth and partly benefit from the water deposits on the moon.

We will partly transport food from th Earth and partly produce food in greenhouses.

We will use solar panels and RTG.

We will produce oxygen in greenhouses.

Describe a day on the Moon for one of your Moon Camp astronauts

Everyone has their tasks on the moon. Some have the task of exploring the universe and some the moon.

Some will examine samples taken from the moon in the laboratory, and some will see if there is danger in the area.
Astronauts have a schedule to follow, and once in six months, supplies are brought to the moon.
Astronauts eat it three times a day and will suck at least 6 hours a day to have enough strength.
