Moon Camp Explorers Gallery 2020-2021

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.

Project description

We have designed conservative moon base for 4 astronauts on the surface of the Moon.
Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?

Close to the Lunar Equator

Why did you choose this location?

We need sunlight for our solar panels and greenhouse at least for half of the month. Equator fits our needs.

How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Which materials would you use?

We will bring inflatable modules made from the special materials. We will also use plastics to build our greenhouse.

Explain how your Moon Camp will provide the astronauts with:
Water
Food
Electricity
Air

We will transport water from the Earth.

We will produce food in our greenhouse.

Our solar panels will supply our base by electricity and we will have batteries to storage it.

We will produce air in our greenhouse.
Describe a day on the Moon for one of your Moon Camp astronauts

Astronauts get up at 7AM, have a breakfast and than they go to work. They do experiments with biological samples, moon rocks and special materials. They have lunch at 1PM. Then they have one hour rest. Then they exercise for one hour. After training they go for EVA on the moon. Dinner is at 8PM.
