Moon Camp Explorers Gallery 2020-2021
In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.

Project description
Our lunar base is located at the poles, since there we can draw solar energy all year round. In addition, part of it is tucked inside an underground crater that protects us from meteorites and thermal oscillations. It also has different buildings; One is where we store and obtain solar energy, there are also maintenance facilities and machines. |

Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?
Close to the Lunar Poles Why did you choose this location?
Our lunar base is located at the poles, since there we can draw solar energy all year round. In addition, part of it is tucked inside an underground crater that protects us from meteorites and thermal oscillations. How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Which materials would you use?
It is made using the material of the moon printed with a 3D printer. It is hermetic so as not to lose air or water and resistant to meteorites. Explain how your Moon Camp will provide the astronauts with:
|

Water
|
Food
|
Electricity
|
Air
|
We will recycle the water that we will bring from the earth, almost 100%, we will recycle the air that we breathe, that of labar and even urine. |
The astronauts will grow their own fruits and vegetables, recycle the remains to make compost to continue growing. |
The energy that we will obtain will be solar, a whole module is made of solar panels and inside it is stored in a kind of rechargeable battery. We use a lunar delivery man for expeditions in the lunar rover |
The lunar base will be hermetic so that it is not lost, and through electrolysis and purifiers oxygen will be obtained. But it will also be achieved with the plants and algae of the greenhouse |
Describe a day on the Moon for one of your Moon Camp astronauts
After breakfast, the astronauts must work in their laboratory for a few hours, then they must check the greenhouse and the maintenance rooms of the machines. At noon they will have lunch and will have free time to play, read, draw or whatever they prefer. In the afternoon they should work another two or three hours and then do two or three hours of sports, after this they should wash up, have dinner and go to bed to rest. |
