Moon Camp Explorers Gallery 2020-2021

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.

Project description

My moon camp is powered by solar panels. I have 6 main buildings which are the control room,Greenhouse,Warehouse,Bedroom, bunker and the machine room.

Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?

Close to the Lunar Poles

Why did you choose this location?

I chose by the lunar poles because then I would be able to use the water ice.

How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Which materials would you use?

With (ortho fabric)TMG cover and glass.

Explain how your Moon Camp will provide the astronauts with:
Water
Food
Electricity
Air

With water bottles from earth

For food growth the green house was designed to produce food for the astronauts. The green house structure is made of ortho fabric to protect the plants from radiation that may cause harm to them.

For the power source the solar panels are used to connect to all the technological objects such as computers and 3D printers etc.

An oxygen machine was created using lunar soil and water ice. How it works is the astronauts put the water ice and lunar soil in the centrifuge and then the water ice separates the oxygen from the lunar soil. The separated oxygen is stored in the last machine that spreads the air in all of the 5 buildings.

Describe a day on the Moon for one of your Moon Camp astronauts

I would wake up and get ready for the day, next I would check on the vegetables in the greenhouse. Then I would make another excavator with the 3D printer. After that I would go to the control room and check how the moon camp’s condition, make an excavator on Tinkercad and do further research on the moon and space itself. Thereafter I would go back to the bedroom and excercise.
