Project description

MOON BASE
(MATERIALS SUITABLE FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE MOON
BASE).
Interest in building human settlements on the moon has increased enormously in recent
years.
There are many problems to be solved before these are feasible, for example, the costs of
bringing materials to the moon and the quality of the materials themselves.
Many scientists are working to solve the quality of the materials to be used, materials that
will have to withstand high or low temperatures on the moon, materials resistant to
meteorite storms or lunar dust storms.
To build the load-bearing structure, bricks could be printed using the three-brick printer
consisting of regolith and urea. The regolith and ice water present on the moon mixed with
the urea, produced by the astronauts themselves, will create a concrete geopolymer. The
structure made with this material turns out to be quite soft and able to withstand heavy
loads without losing shape.
A part of the modules of the lunar base can be built with solar fired bricks, the necessary
furnace will be formed by 147 curved mirrors that concentrate in sunlight in a high
temperature beam, able to dissolve structures such as dusty ones present in large
quantities on the moon, if there is no sunlight you can use xenon lamps.
The material called aerogel can be used as a covering material in the entire lunar base.
The aerogel can also be used to cover the greenhouse module.
An additional layer of Kevlar will be used to cover the lunar base and all its external
modules. The lunar base must be well protected from both meteorites and lunar dust,
formed by very small particles that could enter the base and ruin all electronic equipment.
The internal equipment must be coated and protected with micro-latex to further protect
against moon dust.
