Moon Camp Explorers Gallery 2021-2022

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.

Project description

1.1: Our Moon Camp project is a project for which astronauts will have to go to the moon and live there for a certain period of time. Our mission was to help them by building a lunar base on which they could settle and live! So with plenty of time, we have created a base for them that will be able to accommodate them. We hope that with this, they can have everything they need to live there!

Why did you choose this location?

because, there are places with less extreme temperatures, around -50 °C and 0 ° C. Also since we are on a pole the solar panels are very effective because it is always sunny there.

How do you plan to build your Mooncamp? Which materials will you use?

to create the Moon Camp, we thought of using moon rocks with 3D printers to be able to create solider buildings and for the domes and we are thinking of using polyethylene which could protect us from the sun.

for the water we will use a machine to recycle the mist that we exhale and the water that we reject when we go to the toilets moreover when we have a considerable lack of water small modules coming from the ISS, we will make a delivery thanks to the airstrip next to our base

with the food the problem is solved quickly, because we are on a pole and therefore the sun shines all day, we are also equipped with a greenhouse equipped with retractable panels which will therefore be closed so that the plants do not dry out because of of the sun, we will also have, in the same way as for water, replenishments which will deliver diversified products.

With solar panels we can generate energy and store it in batteries.

With greenhouses, we can generate air from the plants that are planted there.

With the turrets we can protect ourselves from asteroids and with polyethylene, from the sun.

Describe a day on the Moon for one of your Moon Camp astronauts

This is how a day can unfold: The astronauts get up from their room. He heads for the kitchen to have their breakfast. After he walks around to inspect the camp then he watches for the defences to be activated before having their dinner and then they take a rover to study phenomena, explore and map the moon. Then to end their day they go to dinner and talk to each other while playing board games.
