Moon Camp Pioneers Gallery 2020-2021

In Moon Camp Pioneers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Fusion 360. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.

Project description

We are mainly on the moon for investigation and research, understanding the structure of the moon and the investigation of the environment for future human development of the moon. To make a detailed plan for the human lunar landing program, to ensure that more safe and beneficial to the implementation of the human lunar landing program

Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?

We want to build a lunar camp in a lunar crater, because the craters are lower, safer, and we can use the terrain to create our own lunar camp area

How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Describe the techniques and materials you would use.

The first thing we need to do to build a lunar camp is to make sure the astronauts have a viable environment, with all kinds of resources like water (chemically generated) and food (seed value) . Then we built an energy generator power station, then we built laser cannons to keep the moon camp safe from meteors, and finally we built an underground laboratory.

The environment on the Moon is very dangerous for the astronauts. Explain how your Moon Camp will protect them.

We built a remote monitoring meteorite system and a meteorite bombing device on the moon base. The muzzle can turn freely and aim at no dead Angle. Ensure that the threat of meteorites to the base is found in the first time, and remove the threat.

Explain how your Moon Camp will provide the astronauts with:
Water
Food
Electricity
Air

The water source was brought from the earth at the beginning. Later, it searched for solid water on the moon and could purify who could use the water generating device. If there is less water on the moon and can not find solid water, the water generating device is used to synthesize the elements and directly generate water.

At the beginning, the food was brought from the earth. Later, it was planted artificially on the moon, mainly vegetarian food. The food source was mainly cultivated food. Then it can also carry out transgenic planting research, and complete biological mutation and innovative research in various fields.

In terms of energy, it mainly focuses on electric energy. At the same time, it also carries out the development of nuclear energy. Nuclear power plants are used to convert into various sources of energy such as electric energy, mechanical energy and so on. At the same time, it also ensures the sustainable utilization and recycling of energy.

We use electrolysis to break the water down to get oxygen, and we can use plants to convert the carbon dioxide that the astronauts breathe into oxygen.

Explain what would be the main purpose of your Moon Camp (for example: commercial, scientific, and/or tourist purposes).

Our lunar camp is mainly for scientific research and collection. We can study the gene mutation of various organisms under space radiation, observe and study the mutated biological cells and biological systems. In addition, we can also investigate the surface of the lunar camp, observe the geology and various resources of the lunar surface

Describe a day on the Moon for your Moon Camp astronaut crew.

In the morning, the scanning radar is turned on 24 hours a day to detect meteorites or foreign objects in the sky. The astronauts will wake up from the space capsule and wash in the bathroom compartment. The astronauts will then remotely control the rover from the base to explore the moon. The rover has six driving feet, which can deal with the difficult terrain on the moon’s surface. The astronauts will control the camera to make observations, and the robotic claws of the rover will be used to collect objects.The rover will take the samples back to the base, where the astronauts will examine them in the lab. At noon, the astronauts will have a salad of fresh and delicious vegetables. In the afternoon, the astronauts use the computer to analyze and process the data obtained by the experiment. In the evening, the astronauts can watch TV for a while through the relay satellite on the moon, and finally go to sleep in the capsule.
