In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.
Tell us more about your Moon Camp proyect. Write a short paragraph description of the project.
Well, my Moon Camp is very spacious so that they are not overwhelmed or disturbed, in case someone does not like very closed spaces. They have a living room connected to a real estate where they can plant whatever they want. Then next to the living room on the right are the controls for measuring oxygen, water, pressure …
There is like an oil pipeline with stairs to go down to the kitchen where they will have everything they need so that they can have a balanced diet, then they have the bedrooms to rest and sleep. To finish there is a living room.
Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?
in the south of the mon
Why did you choose this location?
Because that is where more water has been weaned frozen and with some drums to defrost it and be able to purify it to drink it and be able to shower, wash dishes or water the plants, since they have a garden to plant their vegetables or fruits
How do you plan to build your Mooncamp? Which materials will you use?
We have built our lunar camp so that astronauts are as comfortable as possible and feel at home too.
We would use titanium, aluminum and steel as primary materials because they are the strongest.
Besides, it is necessary that they be resistant in case there is an impact of meteorites or some phenomenon that caught us unexpectedly, inside the walls would be with white paper and in the room where the oxygen controls are, it would be normal with the titanium walls.
We created some tanks where the astronauts would only have to take the already drinkable water and put it in bottles already ready to drink.
The food will be stored long enough in the kitchen so they don’t have to worry about it. Of course, they will have to equip enough supplies for the days or months that they are going to stay.
Before I say how I am going to produce energy, I want to tell you something, what happens is that on the moon it means supporting temperatures close to 100 degrees, so we have thought about putting heavy batteries or nuclear energy based on the use of radiation in situ daytime solar.
The air will have it with the same mechanisms that they use in a rocket, this will be larger than that of a rocket, but there will be no problem to handle it.
They will have the protection at all times, because the material that we have used to create the lunar camp are more resistant and good lops.
Describe a day on the Moon for one of your Moon Camp astronauts
The first thing the astronauts will do when they arrive is to unload the things they carry such as scientific equipment, suits, food, etc.
They will measure the controls and that everything is in perfect condition to be able to be there. They will make inspections to see the surroundings, they will eat and when the night comes they will have dinner they will be sending the indications of how they have arrived and how everything is and after a long hard day of work they will go to rest. And more or less that would be their first day but they have to do something else.
