Moon Camp Pioneers Gallery 2021-2022

In Moon Camp Pioneers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Fusion 360. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.

Project description

The main direction of our lunar Camp program is lunar development and research. Exploration of the moon has always been what all of us human beings aspire to and pursue. On the basis of a habitable environment for astronauts, we have lunar rovers for all kinds of terrains for mining lunar minerals, and spider-like lunar probes constructed by bionics that can adapt to many complicated terrains. The spiderlike lunar probe constructed by bionics can adapt to a lot of complicated terrains. There are unmanned aerial vehicles with circular magnetic launch orbit, which can save space very well. There are near-earth satellites that can monitor asteroids and meteorites near the moon to ensure the safety of our lunar camp. The entire system is powered by solar power generators, and signal towers are used to communicate with Earth.

2.1 Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?

The “moon station” will be built on flat terrain, which is convenient for astronauts to move, and also conducive to construction and future development.

2.2 How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Describe the techniques, materials and your design choices.

Because of the difficulty of moving on the moon, the astronauts needed to build the “moon station” with auxiliary tools and materials that were lighter but stronger, such as aluminum alloy.

2.3 The environment on the Moon is very dangerous for the astronauts. Explain how your Moon Camp will protect them. (maximum 150 words)

In the astronaut’s clothing, spacecraft, equipment, as far as possible to increase the function of radiation, so as to protect the astronaut in the universe, can find “cover” at any time, to avoid the impending fatal radiation.Astronauts have to be on the lookout for radiation coming from stars in all directions. Near the moon camp there are near-Earth satellites that can monitor the movement of planets near the moon to ensure the safety of the moon camp and the astronauts.

2.4 Explain how your Moon Camp will provide the astronauts with:

Water
Food
Power
Air

Getting water in outer space is difficult, and transporting it back and forth from Earth is expensive. So we’re going to use every drop of good fortune to get to space. We can utilization of chemical reactions to have water;

Food can only be replenished from the earth Energy can be converted using solar energy.

Energy can be generated by solar power stations for the astronauts to use.

The air we’re going to use is a chemical reaction that mimics the air on Earth in proportions that the astronauts can use

2.5 Explain what would be the main purpose of your Moon Camp.

The purpose of our lunar camp is to explore the mineral resources that exist on the moon and to find the mineral resources that humans need and can use for human use. We hope that we can extract mineral resources on the moon, so that we can save money on transportation to Earth. Of course, building a smelting plant on the moon would be very difficult, but we hope that future technology will solve this problem. If we have to, we have to sacrifice the cost and get the raw ore back to Earth in the best way possible.

3.1 Describe a day on the Moon for your Moon Camp astronaut crew.

Astronauts can get up early in the morning to wash, eat breakfast in our restaurant, after breakfast, they began their busy day, responsible for different occupations of astronauts respectively to their own jobs, to explore the moon and scientific research, some open lunar rover; Some fly drones to observe the moon; Some at the main station to pay attention to satellite data, to ensure the safety of the moon camp; There are control signal base stations to keep communication with our earth; There are laboratory studies of lunar minerals… At noon, our restaurant provides various types of food to meet every astronaut’s requirements. In the afternoon, the astronauts can play some games together, take a walk in the moon camp, exercise and so on. Want to rest can listen to music and so on.
